  1. Sit on the ground, lean back slightly with your knees bent, heels off the ground, holding a weight in your hands. Maintain good posture and keep your core strong to stabilize your spine.

  2. Tighten your abs to rotate your trunk, twisting to one side. Touch the medicine ball to the floor, pause briefly, and engage your abs to twist your trunk to the opposite side. Continue rotating from one side to the other for the specified amount of time.

  3. Get the most from this exercise by contracting your abdominal muscles before you rotate to either side. Try to “force" your core to twist your body, without using momentum to your advantage.

  4. You should feel this working the abs and obliques.
